Zac Efron gets a handle on a boat as he rehearses for his new movie, The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud, in Vancouver on Wednesday morning (July 29). The 21-year-old actor stars as the title character in the drama. Joined by costars Amanda Crew and Charlie Tahan, they tested the sails on a faded red sailing boat. Zac, in a life preserver and sailing harness, showed off his biceps as he lowered the boat into the water.

“I was eating at Joe Fortes in Vancouver and Zac Efron showed up! He came in so secretly nobody saw him, I just caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye. He was there with three other people, one was a girl with long brown hair, but she wasn’t Vanessa. They looked like they were having a really good time. Here’s the picture I got with him, he was soooo nice about it!”
Zac Efron steps out in a pair of Cr8ative Recreation kicks as he gets friendly with fellow castmates during an evening stroll around the dock in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday (July 22).
The 21-year-old actor, who is currently filming The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, was seen chatting with Amanda Crew, who plays his love interest in the new movie.
Zac and his new pals took a boat ride across the bay to a restaurant for a special dinner.

Zac Efron puts safety first as he gets suited up in bungee cords at Whistler Bungee in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday afternoon (July 18).
The 21-year-old actor is in Vancouver to start filming on his new movie, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.
In the novel of the same name, cemetery caretaker Charlie’s world gets shaken up by beautiful Tess Carroll, a sailor who had plans to be one of the first women to circumnavigate the globe solo.

He’ll go to any length to prepare for a movie role, and yesterday (July 16) Zac Efron was spotted on several different boat rides in Vancouver, Canada.
The “High School Musical: Senior Year” stud looked a bit chilly as he braved the Northern waters, staying warm with the help of a neoprene wetsuit.
Along with Mr. Efron was a young boy actor whose haircut and overall demeanor made him look like a miniature Zac.
The whole day was preparation for Zac’s new film “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.” Efron even took some scuba diving lessons before it was all over.

Getting back to his childhood roots, Zac Efron was spotted playing video games at an arcade in Vancouver, Canada on Tuesday (July 14).
The “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” stud was reportedly killing some time before heading off to see the Sacha Baron Cohen flick “Bruno” at a nearby theater.
In related news, Zac and his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens are definitely a match made in heaven, but we won’t be hearing wedding bells anytime soon if Miss Hudgens has anything to do with it.
She told press, “I think [marriage and starting a family] is great, but I’m so focused on my career right now that it doesn’t really cross my mind.”

As mentioned on Monday, Zac is town to shoot The Death & Life and Charlie St Cloud. He went to the movies with a friend last night at a local cinema, waited until Bruno started and the theatre was full before slipping in 15 minutes later.
While waiting for the show to start though Zac played video games and was completely left alone, has been able to move around the city without being hassled by crazed fans, without fearing for his life, unlike poor Robert Pattinson who is supposedly miserable in New York, and everywhere else they follow him around.

Thanks to Jamie for the photoshoots.
